SUN RUN/WALK

This weekend was a beautiful and cold weekend! On Sunday our firm decided to participate in the Sun Run. I unfortunately had not trained and was sooo not super keen on being the last one out of 60,000 people to cross the finish line! Nicole, Ayesha and I all took the west coast express in from Maple Ridge and met up with my co-workers and boss. We all started the race together... And it was really great to see so many people and hear the many bands cheering us on!  I was definitely in last place out of our group... but felt that I did ok!! I was proud of my 1:33:28 time and thankful to Jade who stayed behind and walk/ran with me (and baby perogie). I must have shacked the baby so much... I totally felt bad... but everything is fine... so that is good! I don't think my knees and back have ever been this sore... but at the same time i feel great that I did the whole 10 k (without cheating) Ya team!!! Nicole did amazing with a 64 minute time and Ayesha had a great time of 57 mins!! Congrats everyone who complete the race!!! Wahoo!

MEASURE THE BELLY...

Well Matty wanted to measure my belly the other day because it has been sticking out a ton more lately. It's now 31" round at the belly button. I am growing rapidly and have already gained a full eight pounds... which is a little scary.. but as Matthew says.. ""Your pregnant, it's a good thing." The baby is now the size of a lemon and looks something like this inside my belly!

The little one is making me a little sick these days... kinda funny because I was hoping those days would be over! O well!!! 

SWEET TOOTH???

CANDY CRAVINGS

Most who know me know that I LOVE salty foods including pastas, breads and cheeses... and of course favorite snack food of all CHIPS and FRIES. But.. this is funny!!! During the beginning stages of pregnancy, all I wanted was sugary sweet teeth rotting CANDY. How gross is that! (And totally out of character) It was actually a dead give away to a few that something was up! Thank goodness this craving has pretty much subsided... but you can occasionally see me sneaking a candy bar from Luci, my co-worker's desk.  Just a funny side note I thought I would share!

SECOND TRIMESTER

Well... Today is the start of a whole new me!!!! So the books say anyways... The tiredness, moodiness, nausea, and all that jazz should subside... and give way to the HONEYMOON phase of the pregnancy... All I can say is... Keep It Coming ... YAY!!!

What a very interesting time...

It's kinda surreal to think that there is a baby growing inside of me. The other day Matthew tried to listen to my belly (which has popped a tad) and I freaked out!!! I can't believe that someday soon I will be able to feel this little person kick and move around... WOW!!

We have finally "come out" with the news and most everyone should know by now.. which is great! So many people have been so sweet with kind words for Matthew and I. Thank you all for being so loving to us and our new little BUN!

This week I spilled the beans to my boss.. This has caused a lot of anxiety in my life and is something that I have been praying and thinking about daily. It was an interesting chain of events, because I had chosen to tell her when she returned from her trip to Hawaii.  So on Monday when I sat her down and started to tell her my "secret" she said that she already knew. She had found out from another source... my teacher, whom I had needed to explain why I had been feeling so under the weather at school... and so that was a complete SHOCK. I was pretty upset that she didn't find out from me... and she was as well. But you know... GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS... because she actually said that it was probably better this way because then she wasn't so shocked. So in the end it all worked out... she was very kind and it looks like my maternity leave will commence on September 1st, 2008.  (No waddling down G

Other than that life is pretty uneventful! We are trying to sell both of our cars... 2002 Jetta TDI and 2001 Audi S4 (so if you know anyone who is interested - check craigslist.org) in order to get a larger family friendly vehicle!!! 

One more thing: Congrats to Megan, Joe and Riley Green!!! They moved into their brand new house on April 1st, 2008!!! So exciting... I'm sure we will all spend time there.. relaxing at their little retreat home... as it is a sort of Log Home... with a Hot Tub, BBQ and Deck!! Way to Go!!
